PATRIOT PADDLE BATTLE
Come join us for a fun one-day event featuring multiple paddle sports such as pickleball, DotBall360, & pepper pong. This event will be celebrating & honoring Special Olympic athletes, as well as patriots (active duty, firefighters, law enforcement, & veterans).
-
12-1:30pm | to start the day we will be hosting a free introduction session for Special Olympic Athletes to teach them the game of pickleball! If you would like to volunteer to help, check out the volunteer registration below.
-
2pm | we will be having a team-tournament style competition for pickleball players & patriots. We want to encourage new players to come out & learn the game, so all new patriots that have not played before are invited to a 30-minute crash course before the competition, as well as free entry. If you are a current pickleball player or patriot (who has played before, 2.5-4.0 rating) who wants to come out & have fun, register as "experienced player or patriot". If you are a patriot new to the game, register as "brand new patriot". Teams will consist of 3 players, 2 will be experienced & 1 will be a patriot new to the game. Teams will be assigned by event organizers prior to ladder play, & will be mixed to be as enjoyable as possible.
-
4:30pm | we will finish the day with a player party featuring a mini DotBall360 tournament, food, games, & awesome prizes. DotBall360 is a new game designed by one of Albuquerque's own firefighter, Ryan St. Denis. Come learn this team paddle sport! Register in teams of 3 (with your friends or we will assign you a team) to play the game & win fun prizes. There will a be a 30 minute introductory clinic before competition begins to learn the game.
