Camp Options

  • Tennis camps are built for all levels of players, ages 11-14

  • Full Day | 9-3pm

    • Non-member pricing $340 per week

    • Member pricing $320 per week

  • Half Day | 9-11am

    • Non-member pricing $175 per week

    • Member pricing $165 per week

What I will learn and what we will do

  • How to warm up before my tennis lesson and match

  • What to do after my tennis lesson

  • Injury prevention exercises

  • We will be focusing on strokes technique, tactics, and tennis ball placement

  • We will work on speed, strength, endurance, and balance

  • The morning’s session will be focused on tennis practice and the afternoon will be games play

 

What do I need with me

  • Tennis racquet

  • Enough water (also available on the court)

  • Sunscreen

  • Resistance band - link

  • Snack and lunch for each day

  • At least one extra T-shirt

  • Hat

Who will be teaching the tennis camp

My name is Courtenay Leonard and I am a junior in college, playing tennis for Southwest Minnesota State University. I am studying psychology with a minor in sports and performance psychology and earning a coaching certificate. I hope to be a collegiate tennis coach or junior coach after graduating to share my passions after graduating! I have been playing competitive tennis for eight years and I have had multiple years of experience coaching both children and adults. I love working with kids and am excited to offer summer camp sessions at the Canyon Club!

Tennis Camps are designed by experienced world junior tennis coach, Martin Poboril

Programs of the tennis camps are designed by Martin Poboril, an experienced junior tennis coach from The Czech Republic who has worked with top juniors in the world. Martin gained his experience in one of the biggest tennis clubs in Czech (TK Sparta Praha) where he played for more than 8 years as a junior and in the Mouratoglou tennis academy.

 

Description

The tennis camp is set up for juniors of ages 11 and 14 years old. Every day will start with a warm-up, where we will demonstrate different ways to warm up before tennis practice or match. Next will be tennis practice, where we will be focusing on technique, tactics, and placement of shots. After the practice, we will stretch and demonstrate what exercises to do to prevent injuries. Next will be lunch and rest. The afternoon session will include games and match play. At the end of the day will be conditioning, where we will be focusing on speed, strength, endurance, and balance. The tennis camp program is designed by an experienced world junior tennis coach from The Czech Republic. Come and try a European program for tennis development.

Full Day Layouts

  • 8:45                            -> Everybody meets at Canyon Club

  • 11:00 – 11:30           -> Snack + Stretching or injury prevention exercises

  • 11:30 – 1:00              -> Lunch + Rest

  • 1:00 – 2:30                -> Tennis games on court

  • 2:30 – 3:00                -> Conditioning
